Holocaust Memorial Service

On SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 21, 2025, we hope you’ll join us as we honor the memory of those from David-Horodok and neighboring towns who perished in the Holocaust.

The David-Horodoker Organization’s Annual Memorial (Yizkor) Service will be held in-person in Michigan (and on ZOOM) at the Zekelman Holocaust Center (28123 Orchard Lake Rd, Farmington Hills, MI 48334). Optional docent-led tour of the Holocaust Center begins at 10:15 AM, light brunch at 11:15 AM, followed promptly by the service (and ZOOM) at 12:00 pm EST.

This year, we will also commemorate Chaya Ginzburg Liberman z”l and her brave and remarkable story. Chaya was the lone survivor of the horror which occurred on the eve of Rosh Hashanah 1942 in the Stasino forest outside of the town of Stolin, Belarus, about 20 miles from David-Horodok.

If you’re an out-of-towner who’ll be visiting family or friends in the metro-Detroit area for Rosh Hashanah (which begins at sunset on Monday, September 22), we encourage you to join us. This moving event also honors the memories of our members who recently passed away.
